How many times have you ever felt like “One person can only do so much! I am just one person.” It always feels like there are never enough hours in the day to accomplish everything you need or even want to do! I am willing to bet you wished more than anything you had someone to help.
On March 18th UFRC got the help we needed! If what one person accomplishes in a day is impressive, think about what 27 people can do in a day. AFL was kind enough to have 27 volunteers come to the Center and help with whatever was on hand, from painting, to off-loading a tractor trailer of donations. This donation of time and effort is appreciated on the highest level.
AFL volunteers put in a total of 108 hours, which when put in perspective is the same as a full time worker, working 5 days a week for three weeks. Yet they took three weeks’ worth of work and did it in one day! Donating does not have to come in the form of money, even though we all know how good it feels to bring in the dough, but also in the form of time. AFL has given the Center a new vibe and a brighter feel from the one day they were here. We would like to give a big thank you to AFL and all the employees that came to volunteer at UFRC on Friday, March 18th. Without help like yours, we would be at a loss for where to turn for help. Please know that you made a difference in your community, one that will have a lasting effect for years to come.
